I am delighted you are considering coming to Wrexham Glyndwr University (WGU). We are committed to supporting students who come from a care leaving background, and we aim to give you the support you need while you are studying. My name is Beryl and I will be your named contact here.

Wrexham Glyndwr University provide year-round student accommodation for the duration of your course and should you not get financial help towards your accommodation from your local authority there is a 50% reduction in the cost for the first year, provided you are staying on campus.
We give a £1,000 care leaver bursary to all eligible students, which I will assist you in applying for. Should your budgeting skills not be the best we are able to help with your money management, and if necessary, assist you to apply for additional help from the university hardship fund.
Additionally our careers team have a couple of projects that will help you with getting placement experience to help with your employability and confidence.
To support your wellbeing, there is a range of support including on campus counsellors. Our study skills guys are on hand to help you acquire the skills to complete your academic assignments, if needed. We also have a wonderful inclusion team at WGU to assist you if you have need of applying for DSA.
